Conversion of teaching space into a Simulated Hospital Ward
The Simulated Hospital Ward project for Sheffield Hallam University was established to create a realistic hospital setting to be used as part of the University's nursing and midwifery schools to allow a range of training scenarios in an environment closely resembling a fully functional hospital ward.
The Client had established that due to the pandemic there were insufficient placement opportunities and they needed to ensure the correct level of training was available. Works involved the realignment of existing teaching areas including partitions, doors and internal finishes. Specialist fittings such as nurses stations were also provided. Services were upgraded to reflect typical hospital ward installations.
The project was procured using the already established University framework. Mascot Management produced the necessary pricing and tender documentation which was priced by the framework main contractor. Mascot then assisted in the appraisal process, produced contract documentation, including liaising with the University's financial and legal teams and provided post contract cost management services through the time on site.
