Mascot were appointed as Project Managers and Cost Managers to convert a new warehouse, located in the Advanced Manufacturing Park, into a new production facility to produce carbon fibre tubs for McLaren supercars
As Project and Cost Managers we were fully involved in the design co-ordination and procurement process for consultants, main contractor and a separate services contractor. A two-stage tender process was used for both the main contractor and services contractors to get their input from an early stage.
Construction included the strengthening of the structure to accommodate the services which were distributed on a perimeter racetrack to provide future flexibility, engineering requirements to accommodate various pieces of production equipment and the upgrade and extension of existing office and reception areas.
We worked closely with the contractors, production equipment installers and the McLaren production team to ensure co-ordination of all design and efficient installation of all facilities. Regular cost meetings ensured control of the financial aspects of the scheme.
