The Coach House, Sheffield

Mascot Management were appointed as Construction Managers to procure and manage the refurbishment of an existing Grade II listed, coach house into a bespoke private residence of the highest quality (£confidential).

The coach house was an existing coach house that was originally constructed in 1889 and lies within the former grounds of a hotel to the North of Sheffield. The coach house was approximately 9000 sqft and there were also 2 outbuildings that were derelict and not in use. The property had previously been used as the main premises for a local company that specialised in farm machinery repairs, and had planning consent to convert it into 4 private dwellings. A further application was required in order to convert the property into a single 7 bedroom dwelling,

The initial brief from the client was to procure the works as quickly as possible, in order for the works to be completed on site, to allow the property to be occupied and as the design of the works was progressing, the client introduced a specialised design company to provide the concept design for the works. The design of the works was  bespoke to the building with little standard installation. This added further responsibility on Mascot Management to co-ordinate the design of the works between the concept designers, the rest of the design team and the local planning authority, in sufficient time to procure and manage the installation on site.

The project was successfully completed in December 2005, which allowed the client to enjoy their first Christmas in this outstanding property.
