Refurbishment of former cutlery works into student accommodation in central Sheffield.

The conversion and refurbishment of a number of Victorian buildings of 2 and 3 storeys, recently used as manufacturing space for the cutlery industry into cluster apartments, to provide 33 bed spaces with shell retail space being provided at ground floor.

The completion date is geared to the requirements of the academic calendar, to achieve this a quick start was required and with the design not developed, with the potential for additional risks in the structure, a construction management form of procurement has been chosen.

Our role of the Construction Manager includes that of the principal contractor with full responsibility for the site, including the managing of the design process to achieve the procurement programme and the delivery within the time and cost framework for the project.
