Riber Castle, Matlock, Derbyshire
Mascot were appointed Project and Construction Managers for the transformation of Riber Castle into 26 apartments. The additional outbuildings being converted into 10 apartments with 10 new build contemporary executive houses within the 7.5 acre grounds.
Planning consent was granted after a long process over several years. Mascot were appointed to manage the discharging of the planning conditions which were numerous and in some cases onerous, including ecological, archaeological, conservation and community issues.
During this time the construction management process was progressed in parallel with the development of the design, the package breakdown structure, some early market testing and tendering of packages to manage the cost plan. The enabling works for the project had been procured and undertaken to the satisfaction of the authorities, with the procurement underway for the castle refurbishment works being the first phase.
Our role on the project finished upon completion of the enabling works.
