New Sustainable Knowledge Hub for Barnsley College

Mascot have been appointed as Project Managers for a new renewable energies and sustainable construction knowledge hub for Barnsley College.

Mascot were appointed as Project Managers following a competition and commenced Stage C in May 2009. Following outline approval from ERDF, Stage D commenced in January 2010. A final approval is now awaited and a planning consent has been granted.

The technologies and construction methods that are being used in the building include:
Photovoltaics
Solar Heating
Biomass Heating
Ground Source heat pumps
Rainwater Harvesting 
Straw Bale construction
